The story behind:  This hot rod that's long on speed as well as style. Don't let the classic look fool you—with a V12 engine and an extra serving of hp, this model will scream down the highway. As a little piece of history about where the idea of a "liner" comes from. Many engineers tried to incorporate aerodynamics into the shape of cars in the 1920s, and some entered production. First such automobile (a prototype) to have a tear-drop shape and have the wheels within the body was the Persu automobile[9] (1922), with an astounding drag coefficient of 0.22, built by Romanian engineer Aurel Persu. Early versions of the streetcars were referred to as Streamliners' in North America.

After all this lesson of history now we know where this beautiful hot wheel came from.

V12 Included

The looks: Design as an art deco from the 1930 this Hot Wheel is a memoir of simpler times when cars were not powerful machines designed for mass production, but real pieces of art only affordable to few people. Speaking particularly of this model , the lines and curves that constitute the design are so smooth and organic that it is very difficult to believe that most of it is die cast. Only the chassis and the main grill are plastic along with the headlamps.

Of course being a Hot Wheels , Screamliner features a V12 motor a statement of power and speed!. I really wish I could say more about this one but I feel there is no need, this folks is my kind of class, this is , a true statement of power and perfection blended together in a machine. 

Its mid 2014 folks, and most of the 2014 models has been released so far but I am very confident that by far this is one of the best ones they have done in years and that is a statement!

Rodzilla

Cockpit and V8 ahead

The story behind:  Rodzilla is a casting in the shape of a reclining mechanical dragon. The driver sits behind the big V8 engine en under the fearsome dragon. The head of the dragon can be turned 360 degrees.

The looks: What can I say when a car looks like a humongous dragon sitting in 4 wheels. My model is from 2012 when they sold it as the "Year of the Dragon 2012" for those who dont know where, well this is celebrated in China folks (again one of my South Asia trips). The model is plastic with only the chassis made of metal. The color red with gold goes well with the model to warrant a flashy appearance.

Bone Shaker

The story behind: Bone Shaker is a extremely popular hot wheels casting. The model is a modified hot rod with a skull in the front of the vehicle. During my collection tenure Ive been able to collect around 5 different castings of the same model.

The gang

The looks: As I stated previously, it looks like a hot rod with a skull on its front. The cockpit is missing the roof but I have always envisioned with a canvas, the cockpit is good for 2 seats. The front also features a massive motor with 4 exits on each side of the model. In the back of the car and this is plastic featured is the battery and the water tank which looks massive.

The body of the model is die cast and the chassis is mere plastic. Wheels are larger on the back as with every other hot rod. Being a hot wheels original it have received lots of limelight, hot wheels even made a real version of this bad boy. Death never looked so bad ass and so good!

The first time I wrote this I was very lazy and I didn't do my best effort, therefore I am re posting this with pictures of the Bone shakers I owe.

The logo makes all the difference

The story behind:  Oshkosh Corporation, formerly Oshkosh Truck, is an American industrial company that designs and builds specialty trucks, military vehicles, truck bodies and access equipment. Based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the company employs 12,300 people around the world.

The looks: Another of my hidden jewels! Oshkosh Cement Mixer was produced from 1992 till 2002, it was one of the most iconic hot wheels back in the day. I remember most of my childhood everybody had it, nowadays it is very rare and so it is quite expensive in the flea market, luckily I was able to got mine for a very cheap price. The design is very fair in line wih the Oshkosh company. The body and the cilinder are made of plastic and the chassis is metal based. The color scheme is simple, black for the wheels and the cilinder and everything else is yellow. You can only realize which is the front and the back thanks to the hot wheels logo which is colored in white.
