Porshe Carrera GT

A mid-engined sports car

Porshe Carrera GT

Name: Porshe Carrera GT
Debut series: 2006 First Editions
Produced year: 2006
Designed: Phil Rielhman

The story behind:  The Porsche Carrera GT (Project Code 980) is a mid-engined sports car that was manufactured by Porsche between 2004–2007 in Leipzig Germany. Originally a production run of 1,500 cars was planned. However, Porsche announced in August 2005 that it would not continue production of the Carrera GT through to 2006, citing discontinuation was due to changing airbag regulations in the United States.

The Carrera GT is powered by a 5.7 litre V10 engine producing 612 hp (450 kW), it also has a large side inlets and air dams that help cool the large V10 engine framed by the carbon fibre rear bonnet. As of May 6, 2006, 1,270 GT's had been manufactured, with 604 being sold in the United States.
The looks:  Porshe Carrera GT is by all counts and engineering feat, and this time Hot Wheels once again did it right with this one, there is a lot of detail in this car and it shows, the outtakes of the exhaust fumes are very much in line with the original model, the interior shows the black sleekness of the real model (albeit this one is plastic whereas the original has leather). The headlamps and the rear are accurate which is very odd in Hot Wheels (only when the model is good enough they go the extra mile; mind you). This model has come in several models in which I only owe 2, a silver and a green one, being as picky I remember seeing a red cherry which I regret not acquiring back then.
Detailed brand
Anyway I love this model it goes along with any kind of collection, whether you like sports car of Hot Wheels in general this one wont dissapoint.

Rating: ****
